Follow The Directions

01

Step
5 mins

Preheat the oven to 325 degrees F (165 degrees C). Generously grease a 2 1/2-quart baking dish with butter. Place bread cubes on a baking sheet.

02

Step
15 mins

Toast bread in the preheated oven until golden brown, flipping halfway through, about 15 minutes total.

03

Step
9 mins

While the bread is toasting, melt 2 tablespoons butter in olive oil in a large frying pan over medium-high heat. Sauté onion and celery until softened and lightly browned, approximately 5-7 minutes.

04

Step
10 mins

In a large mixing bowl, combine the toasted bread cubes with the sautéed vegetables. Season generously with poultry seasoning, salt, and pepper. Gradually add chicken broth, mixing until the stuffing is moist but not soggy. Transfer the stuffing mixture to the prepared baking dish.

05

Step
5 mins

Rinse the turkey breast under cold water and pat dry. Place the turkey breast, skin-side up, on top of the stuffing in the baking dish. Gently slip cubes of butter under the skin of the turkey breast and pour melted butter over the top. Season the turkey lightly with salt and pepper. Tent the baking dish with aluminum foil.

06

Step
3 hrs

Bake in the preheated oven for 2 1/2 hours. Remove the foil and continue to bake until the turkey is no longer pink in the center, the juices run clear when pierced with a fork, and the skin is golden brown, about 30 minutes more. Transfer the turkey to a cutting board and let it rest for 10 minutes before slicing and serving over the stuffing.

For extra flavor, consider adding some chopped fresh herbs, such as sage, thyme, or rosemary, to the stuffing mixture.
If you prefer a crispier top on the stuffing, broil for the last few minutes of baking, keeping a close eye to prevent burning.
To ensure the turkey breast stays moist, you can brine it for a few hours before cooking.
