Follow The Directions

01

Step

In a medium bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, confectioner’s sugar, 2 tablespoons of softened butter, vanilla extract, lemon juice, and salt. Use an electric mixer or whisk to blend until smooth and fully incorporated. Transfer the mixture to a resealable plastic bag or a piping bag. (5 minutes)

02

Step

Using a paring knife, carefully cut a ½-inch slit into the side of each Hawaiian roll. Gently create a well in the center of each roll through the slit, being cautious not to puncture the opposite side. A small spoon handle or your finger can be helpful for this step. (10 minutes)

03

Step

Snip off a corner of the plastic or piping bag. Pipe the cream cheese mixture into the well of each roll, ensuring a generous filling without causing it to ooze out. An offset spatula or the back of a small spoon can aid in maneuvering the filling. (10 minutes)

04

Step

Melt the remaining butter in a small bowl. Brush a light coating of melted butter over the tops of each filled roll. (5 minutes)

05

Step

Preheat your air fryer to 400°F (200°C) according to the manufacturer's directions. In a shallow dish, combine the granulated sugar and ground cinnamon. (2 minutes)

06

Step

Working in batches to prevent overcrowding, air fry the filled rolls until they are golden brown and toasted, approximately 3 minutes per batch. Immediately after removing from the air fryer, evenly coat the warm rolls in the cinnamon-sugar mixture. If needed, brush with additional melted butter before coating to help the sugar adhere. (10 minutes)

For an extra touch of decadence, drizzle the finished rolls with a simple glaze made from powdered sugar and milk.
These are best served warm, but can be stored in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 2 days.
Adjust the amount of cinnamon in the sugar mixture to your personal preference.
